More than 40 million tons of ice flow out into the fjord, 24 hours a day. The result is gigantic icebergs that can be more than 100 metres wide and rise 100 metres above the water’s surface. These giants are found at the end of the fjord, creating a perfect opportunity to sail right amongst them. Beautiful in all kinds of weather, their contrasts become very clear in sunshine and feature incredible shades of blue, while the midnight sun creates a unique glow around them at night when it’s cloudy. A truly exceptional experience not to be missed when visiting Ilulissat. GOLDEN CIRCLE AND BLUE LAGOON | 3 nights Pre/ 2 Nights Post-cruise Land Programme Combine the classic Big Three attractions of Iceland: Gullfoss Falls, the Great Geysir, and UNESCO World Heritage Site Thingvellir National Park, then add a relaxing day in the Blue Lagoon, a natural geothermal spa found right in the middle of a beautiful field of solidified lava.
